Within the framework of the EU-funded "Local Development Program Along the Litani River Basin", the ESFD launches an accelerated vocational training program for school dropouts and TVET students, in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Central Bekaa.

The project aims to create job opportunities and support youth in establishing their private projects through developing their soft skills in English and business communication, and occupational skills in the following fields: industrial maintenance, cheese production, International Hospitality, marketing and exporting local products, and software development.

The project consists of two phases. The first one includes training 180 participants on soft and occupational skills, in specialized training centers in coordination with the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The second phase consists of internships for these participants in companies and institutions operating in the Litani Basin.

The "Local Development Program Along the Litani River Basin", is a EUR 20 million program, funded by the EU Delegation and implemented by ESFD. The program aims to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors by creating job opportunities and providing basic services for the residents of the Litani Basin.
